Paperboy → U.S. Senator

I grew up in a working-class family in a blue-collar town, delivering papers, shopping at Goodwill, and using the wrong colored lunch ticket.
I’m proud of my roots. When it comes to running for Senate, my background is both an advantage and a disadvantage.
Advantage: I grew up like most Americans, and I understand what regular people actually care about. Health care. Childcare. Fair wages. Owning a home. Affordable gas prices. Trust me, working people aren’t clocking 60+ hour weeks to fund tax cuts for the super-rich and more endless overseas war.
Disadvantage: I started this race as a dark-horse candidate with no money. My opponent, on the other hand, started as a wealthy member of Congress with a lot of deep-pocketed backers.
Advantage: I had to develop plenty of grit to achieve what I’ve achieved and get where I am today. There’s just no substitute for that.
Disadvantage: We recently found out that National Republicans’ planned spending in Iowa has officially hit $100 million. My campaign doesn’t accept corporate PAC money, so I’m counting on grassroots support to win this fight.
